This seemed like such a good idea at sketch stage.....after about the 25 hour mark I wasnt sure how good an idea it was.=P Total time: 40 hrs.

This was a fun escape from summer, its amazing how even hours spent painting snow cool you off.(the mind is a weird thing!) This is actualy very similar to an older black & white ink drawing I did ([link])..but expanded & 'winterised' & will be the new mainpage pic for my site.:)
Only thing I wasnt satisfied with is the snow effect near the lantern...I wanted that look how snow gets thicker in bright light, but there was already so much white it didnt show up well. Ah well, I can never be 100% happy with anything anyway..:D

Character is my wandering kid Stormshade & his dog Burr. They are copyright to me, so steal & die!! ^_^'

Really well done, i love the monotone colors of the trees, and then theirs this nice yellow in the middle and a really vibrant blue to the right of it. I also like how its a staircase to what looks like nowhere just winlderness. I think some red on the left side, some berry bushes or something would balance out the color better, but its not really needed, it turned out great.

Yeah I wish it looked like that here right now too......as for how long it took: aproximately 40 hours. (plus however long it took to sketch..) :)

heh, I did actualy think about adding berry bushes in there...rowan berries or something similar. Thaen I thought about painting every.single.berry.....:no:
